S.O.P.H.I.E
Hiya guys!
Today I'm gonna talk about a girl. Not just any girl. An amazing girl, a life saver and a person who has died to save someone she loved.
Meet Sophie Lancaster. She was 21 when she and her boyfriend (Robert Maltby), got kicked to death by a 15 and a 16 year old in Lancashire in 2007. Her boyfriend survived because she saved him. Sophie was a gap year student at the time, wanting to go to college to do an english degree. Her parents said "We were proud to know our daughter. She was funny, kind, loving and brave. She was a beautiful girl with a social conscience and values which made her a joy to know". Why would such a "kind, loving and brave" young woman get kicked to death in a park after her and her boyfriend got attacked? Becuase they were goths. Seems stupid, right? A girl got kicked and punched to death after try to save her boyfriend from being attacked, because they were goths.
It was said that the attackers may have been drunk at the time. Even if they were drunk, that is no way to treat an innocent couple. The attackers were considerably younger than Robert and Sophie, yet managed to cause them serious injuries. Police described the hostilities as "a sustained attack during the course of which the pair received serious head injuries and their faces were so swollen we could not ascertain which one was female and which one was male."
The pair were taken to hospital short after the attack was acknowledged by emergency services. Robert was left in a coma with bleeding and damage to the brain. He finally recovered but life-long brain damage still remains. Sophie, on the other hand, wasn't in such a good way. She suffered from a deep coma. After 13 days of her showing no sign of improvement, hospital staff were certain that Sophie would never regain conciousness. Later that day, her family aggreed to turn off life support. On the 24th August 2007, Sophie was announced dead.
In 2013, Greater Manchester Police became the first unit the record and keep track of attacks against alternative subcultures and treat them the same as an attack in regards to race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or gender identity.
Below are a few links to some websites linked to Sophie. Hope you learnt something from this post. RIP Sophie. You are an inspiration and your memory will live on in the hearts of many.
So long and goodnight,

My Opinions - Moshing
Hi Guys!
This week, I will be sharing my opinions of moshing with you. I recently watched a clip of The Phil Donahue Show discussing the 'dangers' of moshing. Click here to watch the clip and tell me your opinions on the comments of this post. (all pictures in this post are from pintrest)
What is moshing?
This week, I will be sharing my opinions of moshing with you. I recently watched a clip of The Phil Donahue Show discussing the 'dangers' of moshing. Click here to watch the clip and tell me your opinions on the comments of this post. (all pictures in this post are from pintrest)
What is moshing?
Moshing is a form of self-expression,
related to metal and harcore music. Taking place in crowded areas or
'pits', it includes pushing and shoving. Other forms of the moshing
activity include the more dangerous, stagediving. This means: climbing
up onstage, jumping off the stage into the crowd and being handed from
person to person around the auidence. Other variations include pogoing
(jumping up and down on the spot, usually associated with punk rock) and
circle pits (running round and round in a large circle).
What do I think?
Regarding injuries, people put themselves into the pit. They choose to go to a concert and get in that pit. Although I myself have never been moshing, I believe that people don't get pushed into the pit. From interviews i have watched with people who mosh I am led to believe that people who fall are picked up by fellow participants. In the interviews i have watched, they also talk about the security at the venues. From watching videos of moshpits, I can observe that guards are being more aggresive than assertive.
Thank you for reading this post and please feel free to share your opinions in the comments.

Throwback - All American Rejects
Hiya Guys!
Are you excited for Christmas? I am! Anyway, this post is the pilot of a whole new series. Throwback, will look at bands from subgenres and time periods of the past (hence the name). Although these bands are featured in this series, they may still be going strong. This time, I will be talking to you about All American Rejects, the band that created hits such as Give You Hell and Dirty Little Secret. I'd have to say, I have gotten into them more recently.I will be answering a few questions about the band and why I like their music.
What is you favourite song by AAR?
I'd have to say, Dirty Little Secret. I love the tune of it. and the message. I love the truthness (is that even a word) of it. It says about how, even the people you think are goody-two-shoes have secrets.
What do you like most about the band's sound?
I really like the raw elements of their music. Alot of music these days sounds so clean and digital and has no character. With their catchy choruses and grunge-inspired, pop punk tunesAAR really break the mould.
How did you find out about them?
I was watching Kerrang! TV, and Give You Hell came on. It just made me want to get up off of the sofa and strt dancing. It just made me feel so free and straight after it went off, I began looking up their songs and listened prettymuch EVERY tune by them!
Let me know what you think of this type of post in the comments (you can comment without a Google account now) and have a very merry Christmas!!!

My Favourite Songs At The Moment
Hi!
Sorry I haven't posted much lately, but I have been quite busy. This week, I will be talking you through my top 10 favourite songs at the moment. Most are old songs I have revisited, but some are new releases. Without futher ado, I will begin!
10 - Snuff by Slipknot
I love this tribute to Paul (Gray, Bass) and plus I think its justa really cool song. Its a bit more chilled out than other Slipknot jams such as The Devil In I, but I think it has as much impact. I am a MASSIVE maggot and I do love the crazy, mask wearing, baseball bat weilding slipknot. I also love the sentimaental, raw slipknot. Amazing song by an amazing band.
9 - Moving On by Asking Alexandria
I am a massive AA fan. I really feel like I need to buy From Death To Destiny. It has such great songs on it! This being one of them. I love the emotion Danny puts into his voice into this track! It's not tear-jerking, but it really pulls on your heartstrings! It has a bit more of a classic rock influence rather than metalcore but it still really makes an impact
8 - Little Monster by Royal Blood
I love the crazy, energeticstyle to this song! Royal Blood are really making a name for themselves and I love it! Ahhh! Crazy! It's so minimalist yet so drmatic yet so garage inpired. I like how it goes quiet then really crazy and loud!
7 - Icky Thump by The White Stripes
I flipping love this song! Such random and eccentric lyrics. Don't get me started on the guitar playing! Oh lord! I just sometimeds put it on and air guitar in my room and pretend I'm Jack White! Don't ask...
6 - Stolen Omen by Black Veil Brides
I have recently picked up the latest Black Veil Brides album feeling sceptical, but when I played it through on the way home, I was VERY impressed! I think that Goodbye Agony (CLICK HERE TO READ MY REVIEW) and Heart On Fire are strong hits, but, I really think this is good enough to be a single aswell. It has a very strong drum beat and amazing lyrics (as always).
5 - The World Is Ugly by My Chemical Romance
I have to put this song in. I have ben a bit emotional about the MCR breakup and this song has helped me alot!!! I put it on before I go to sleep and imagine that Gerard is there, sat at the end of my bad and singing it to me... There we go with the Gee obsession again!!! I can't help it!
4 - .Joyriding. By Frnkiero andthe Cellebration
An amazing release by an ex MCR man. I love this song! It has a really grungy, rough feel which fits in with the style of the record. Alot of people said his singing wasn't up to scratch, but, at the end of the day it adds more dimension to the record. Plus, I think his singing is amazing!
3 - How It's Going To Be by Gerard Way
I REALLY love Gerard Way! I think I have a borderline obsession with this human being! Do they have Gerard Way rehab? That would be a miserable place to be! I can't miss the Weekend Pancake Report!!! Anyway, on to the actual song. Really good song with really good lyrics. Enough. Said.
This is quite an old song, but, I have rediscovered it and found once again the amazing-ness of it! It is so inspiring and empowering to listen to. The power and postitivity of that song is unbeleivable. I LOVE IT! 30STM have always brought out ground-shaking, positive tunes and this one is no exeption!
1 - Kick Me by Sleeping With Sirens
Wow! A new release from Kellin Quinn and Company! It's so empowering and angry! Kellin's voice and attitude fits perfectly with the lyrics and, just, everything fits together like a massive, hardcore jigsaw! I have prettymuch been listenig to this every morning and it really gets me ready for the day, with a fire in my belly!
So, that has been my 10 favourite sgns at the moment. Be sure to leave a comment below, telling me your favourite song(s) at the moment. Thanks for reading and have a lovely festive season.
So long and goodnight...

A: "Oh yeah, I like the guitar playing

Q: Do you recognise this person?
A: "Frankie?" Yeah "Yes!"
Q: Anything you like or dislike about the song?
A: "I like the tune going through but a bit jumpy tempo-wize"
Q: This song has been in a Disney film, what impact do you think this song has on younger kids watching the film?
A: "I think they might think that people don't care about how they feel and It might make them want to rebel against society and it's not neccesarily a good thing to rebel." "Hate is a very very expressive and graphic word"
Q: Finally, what you rate it?
A: "Even though I find it controversial, and I'm not sure what message it's trying to put out, I would rate it a 9/10" "I might make kids want to share their feelings so that something can be done to help them.
Thanks to my mum for doing this. Have you enjoyed it? "Yeah, I've enjoyed it". Her favourite song I showed her is Would You Still Be There by Of Mice And Men.
Thanks,
So long and goodnight...

Slipknot
Corey Taylor (Vocals) Unmasked |
I have recently gotten into alot heavier bands, especially Slipknot. Before I really got into metalcore, hardcore etc I thought they were a little bit too heavy (too much screaming etc) but now I see past the crazy guitars and belting vocals. When I first showed my friends the video to 'The Devil And I' (Click here to check it out WARNING: MAY BE A BIT DISTURBING) they were a bit shocked to say the least. People are still amazed that I like them when I show them pictures of them in their masks, but they soon get over it...
Slipknot 2014 |
Make sure to pay a visit to the Official Slipknot Website. Also, Pick up their new album '.5: The Gray Chapter' becuae it is so rad! RIP Paul Gray.

Review: Black Veil Brides - Goodbye Agony
Hi!
Sorry that I haven't posted for a bit! I have been extra busy with exam revision and school stuff. I will rewrite some posts and post them on the schedule so you will get a post a week in the upcoming weeks. Quick little notice: my internet friend Lewis (aka ThatAkwardMondayShow) has now got a blog! I will link his blog and channel at the end. This week, I will be reviewing the new tune and video by Black Veil Brides! I am so excited to share with you what I think of Biersack And Co.'s new masterpiece!
The Song: I really like the dramatic feel to this song. It reminds me slightly of something my Avenged Sevenfold, but, with the Black Veil Brides twist. They have been given quite alot of stick for it being 'softer' than songs such as Fallen AngelS etc... I think they have made a contrast with this song compared to other songs on the record. It's not my favourite track on the record (The Devil In The Mirror is my fave) but I think it is a really strong tune. It seems to have alot more classic rock influences than hardcore and metalcore. It is different from their older songs, but, they have made a new story with this record. They have moved away from the Set The World On Fire era, but, that doesn't mean it won't be theatrical. If anything, this song demonstartes that fact clearly.
The Video: I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! I am partial to a bit of pyro and this video fulfills my needs for fire! XD The performance scenes are really coll. It doesn't show CC, Jake and Jinxx as much as Andy and Ashley but overall, it is a great video. The story-based scenes seem a little out of place, but, I imagine it references to the movie that I haven't watched yet (could you link me to a place where I can purches/watch it if you know any) but I will probably get those scenes once I watch it.
Thanks for sticking around when I haven't been posting as regularly as usual! If you wanna check out the video, CLICK HERE! Leave you opinions down below if you would like. You can comment without a Google Account.

I LOVE RONNIE RADKE
Hi Guys!
I'm not afraid to say this, I love Ronnie Radke. I know everyone has their own opinions on him, most of them negative, but you can't judge me for supporting him. If you don't judge me for liking him, thank you.
I'm not afraid to say this, I love Ronnie Radke. I know everyone has their own opinions on him, most of them negative, but you can't judge me for supporting him. If you don't judge me for liking him, thank you.

This is a bit of an odd post so far. But, I felt the need to express my opinions on this individual. If you don't like the fact I have a positive attitude towards Ronnie, please do not put yourself through the anger of reading this. It doesn't do anybody any good. For those of you who share my opinion, I think this is the post for you. And for those of you who do not know who the heck I am going on about, the next paragraph is a good place to start.
Who is Ronnie Radke?
Ronnie is the founding member and current frontman of punk band Falling In reverse. He was also one of the founding members of the band Escape The Fate, In May 2006, he was involved in the fatal shooting of Micheal Cook in Las Vegas. Although Ronnie didn't shoot Cook, he was charged with five years of probation for battery and past drug possesion. In June 2008, he failed to report to his probation officer and was charged with four years in jail. Although charged with four years, he was released within two and a half. When he got out (In December 2010) he was officially dismissed from ETP (Escape The Fate). He was replaced by former frontman of Blessthefall, Craig Mabbit. Ronnie then began Falling In Reverse (then called From Behind These Walls). Since then he has made a mixtape (Watch Me) with guests Andy Biersack, Tyler Carter and Danny Worsnop. He still continues with Falling In Reverse and I hope they bring out some new music soon. If you don't already listen to Falling In Reverse, check them out! I reccomend I'm Not A Vampire and Keep Holding On.
Why Does Ronnie Inspire Me?
I think Ronnie inspires me in many ways. As you can see from the paragraph above, his life hasn't been easy and he hasn't always done the right thing. That is one of the things that is amazing: How many times he has been knocked down, yet he still gets back up and keeps fighting. I don't care whether others think he is a bad role model, I think he is pretty damn amazing. I know he has done some bad things (taken drugs etc) he has gotten past them. He is now completely sober and clean of drugs. He has shook of the things and people holding him down, now he can get to his goals and be around the people who deserve his company.
Comment below with who inspires you and why. If you like this post, share it! If you have any queries or suggestions, leave them down below and I will reply ASAP.
So long and goodnight...
