Review of Bring Me The Horizon's 'Drown'

Hi Guys!
I have been listening to alot of Bring Me The Horizon lately and I have began to really like them. I also heard about all the commotion concerning one of their most recent songs, Drown. Turns out, I really like it! In this post, I will be reviewing it for you. Click HERE to watch it on youtube, maybe even leave your opinions in the comments below!

On my first listen, I noticed it to be alot softer than tracks like 'Sleepwalking' and 'Shadow Moses' but still with as much impact lyrically. Oli always adds alot of character into his voice when he sings. That is what I really like about this song, it showcases his vocal talents alot more than the heavier tracks (which I also love).

Lyrically, this song is a really strong piece. Metaphors and similies are frequently used, making it more relatable to a wider audience. I think my favourite line from this song is actually in the chorus. It is 'Who will fix me now? dive in when I'm down, save me from myself, dont let me drown'. I think that line is an excellent, catchy chorus lyric because it pretty much sums up the whole context of the song.

I am really into this 'new' sound as much as I like their 'old' sound. Even though it isn't as heavy, it really shows off the aptitude of the band as a unit. I really think Matt's (Nicholls, drums) expertise are perfectly displayed in this song. There is a really strong drum beat, a signature feature of a BMTH (Bring Me The Horizon) song. Songs like 'Go To Hell, For Heaven's Sake' also show this to be true.

But I want to hear what YOU think! Tell me your opinions on this song in the comments below!

So long and goodnight,
Liv
